News Broadcasts Are Now Showing 2K Highlights For Sports Recaps And This Needs To Continue
Under normal circumstances we would all make fun of this move, mostly because there would be real life sports to report. But you know what? Since that isn't happening anytime soon I feel like this should just be the move for everyone. Local news stations, ESPN, all of em. We heard teams come out and say they were taking their regular seasons to Twitch, well why not just have this happen for every sport? It's nowhere close to the real thing but it'll make us feel like we're back to normal watching "sports" highlights. We're on what, Day 5 of no NBA and I feel like that has us all at the point where collectively we could get behind this. Anything out there that gives us a sense of normalcy I'm all for.
Plus, this simulation was also pretty accurate. The Nuggets struggle with that matchup. So far they are 1-2 against the Lakers this season averaging just 109 a game. Seeing as how they are 18-14 on the road and 5-5 over their last 10, it's not unrealistic to think they would lose a road game to the Lakers. You can't convince me those highlights aren't exactly what would have happened. Sure there was no way an LA news station was going to put up a game in which the Lakers lost so I can't speak to the validity of that highlight and how many times they had to sim for a Lakers win to happen, but I'll let it slide given our current situation.
In my opinion, every network/news station needs to do this for a little while. It'll get played out by like Day 26, but for now I think we're all starved for any sort of sport where we would tolerate it. Fire up 2K, NHL 20, MLB The Show etc, basically any sports video game you can think of and just give us simulation highlights. Have it lead Sportscenter when there was something epic just like it normally would in sports. It may seem dumb now, but after you've emptied your Netflix clip and look down and you're on page 57 of Pornhub, you'd take it.
